The Cause

Another year has come and gone, and what a year it was. A year of stretching ourselves through travel, and centering ourselves even more firmly in our community. We’ve partnered with new organizations (hi, Anna’s House!), made new friends (hey, Staunton Music Festival), produced our first summer professional show — complete with dinner theatre! And through all the new, we’ve recommitted ourselves to educating children, teens, and adults in the performing arts. Our scholarship fund has grown by leaps and bounds just with our tip jar during events! We’ve hosted monthly improv shows with talent from our adult improv class, and our camps and classes are full and happy. And we still feel like we’re just getting started.

This year is also the year we finally #BreakIntoTheBack — come see the gorgeous new dance and movement studio/classroom that you have helped us create. With it, we’ll be able to do more of everything, and we’re so grateful to you for helping us get there.

The year ahead marks new goals and challenges for us. Hiring more artists, producing more shows, bringing those shows to new audiences, and, of course, holding this space for anyone who wants to learn, create, express, and grow. And party!

Thank you for being here and celebrating year four with us!

Why Fringe Festival?

Every year our gala has a different theme and this year the theme is FRINGE Festival! While we fundraise for a lot of different initiatives, for the past two years we were raising money (in part) to help our high school kids pay their way to the world's largest arts festival ... The Edinburgh Fringe. They call it "The world's greatest platform for creative freedom" with over 3,400 different shows coming from 58 countries. We took an original piece to the Fringe this past August and wanted to bring back the energy and fun for our home community! Get ready to experience the ambience of the festival, watch a selection of short performances, and delight in international street food and Scottish beverages. This is our way of thanking the donors who helped us get there, and those who have continued to support our growth, celebrating the joy and privilege it is to create art anywhere in the world!
